Dodge made an interesting and less expensive solution for those which would like to own an SRT badged Durango. They’ve invented the 2019 Dodge Durango GT SRT model that doesn’t provide as high output numbers as the actual SRT-based SUV but gets some styling cues which are typical for the vanilla Durango.
You won’t find the impressive 6.4-liter V8 mill under the hood of the 2019 Durango GT. Instead, the option will continue with a familiar 3.6-liter V-6 which pumps out 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The mill is hooked up to an eight-speed automatic transmission which delivers the power to either rear- or all-wheel-drive system. The powertrain will still be able to tow up to 6,200 pounds.
Most of the changes happened from the outside. The 2019 Dodge Durango GT shares pretty much everything with the SRT model. The new styling cues include a more aggressive front fascia and LED headlights, as well as the interesting hood which features a single air inlet duct. The potential buyer will be able to get two heat extractors as well, while the list options include new 20-inch wheels, a trailer brake, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
The cabin of the 2019 Dodge Durango GT gets leather seats with suede inserts and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The power liftgate is a standard part of the SUV, while the first and second row of seating can add heating option.
The carmaker hasn’t released any pricing information so far. However, this should happen soon, as the 2019 Dodge Durango GT is going to become available this fall. The automaker, on the other hand, did say how much money is going to cost the base model. According to them, the SUV will start at exactly $29,995 excluding destination charge.
