Ford Fiesta SUV Spy Shots And First Details

Ford is definitely making a coupe-SUV for Europe. The vehicle has been spied testing for the first time a few hours ago, and I have that spy shots right here. The automaker hasn’t decided how to call the all-new crossover, so, at the moment, it has been named the Ford Fiesta SUV. How come? Well, the future model will be based on the compact. Ring a bell? Yes, Blue Oval has two of the kind already, but neither of them is coupe-looking isn’t it? Moreover, while the EcoSport deserves to be called an SUV, I can’t really say that for the Fiesta Active. No, this is just a jacked-up hatchback.

Anyway, some reports claim that the newcomer is actually going to replace the EcoSport? Maybe, maybe not; we will see in the coming months what’s really cooking.

So far, the prototype reveals its basic bodylines, which are definitely coupe-like. The dynamic-looking Ford Fiesta SUV looks like a better-proportioned option than the EcoSport. Okay, it will lack cargo space for sure, and maybe even headspace in the rear, but the overall size definitely outmatches the EcoSport.

Of course, the coupe-SUV will ride on a same platform as the Fiesta. The supermini will also borrow its engines to the crossover, although I don’t exclude some plug-in hybrid or even electric powertrain among options.

Since the automaker intends to fight against the Nissan Juke, Seat Arona, Mazda CX-3, Hyundai Kona, and Kia Stonic, the Ford Fiesta SUV needs to offer modern cabin design; not to mention, a range of advanced features, including good infotainment and rich entertainment.

I can’t really know when and where this still unnamed coupe-SUV is going to be introduced. However, according to the latest reports, Blue Oval’s newcomer will make appearance in early 2020.
